Tapping Class...

Well, I guess it has officially begun... dance classes. We visited a local dance studio on the suggestion of a friend. She had signed up her daughter and some other kids we knew, so we decided to check it out.

2 weeks later....

You've GOT to LOVE it!

This is us! We're ready for "tapping class" as Miss C refers to it. Class consists of 30 minutes ballet and 30 minutes tap with a little tumbling thrown in at the end for fun.

"Bring Your Kid to Work Day"

Well, guess what! Miss C's daddy took her to work with him Friday for "Bring Your Kid to Work Day". A new concept for us, but we're taking it in stride.

We didn't know what to expect... it was ... interesting...

Here are some pics.

Turns out they had LOTS of stuff for kids to play on and do.
Bounce houses, slides, face painting, cotton candy, snow cones, arts & crafts, and the official t-shirt for the day! C's daddy wasn't impressed, but to me it sounded like they gave it a good try. Notice all the great pictures of all the stuff they saw and did?! ...hmmm (not really).

BTW - if you're wondering...that's the real Stanley Cup.

Just another day in the life of my sweet pea in HB.

Half Birthday!

This year, with everything that has transpired, we decided to try out the notion of a HALF-birthday party. So on June 16th (my Dad's birthday!) we had a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party at My Gym!

I know, I know...it's summer time and you had the party indoors? Confused.

Well, for the last 3 years I've agonized over the weather. Are we going to get rained out? Are all the kids going to get sick outside in the cold, wet weather? Blah, blah. Yuk!

So, I decided we'd try summer time.

Originally I was planning for a party here at home, but because there were so many other things going on that we didn't have any kind of timeline on, I went with My Gym. BTW, we did look at several other places (Pump It Up, The Little Gym, etc.) but this place seemed like the best candidate. Charlotte had been there exactly once! She went to a friend's birthday party, but it was not at the location near our home. So, I signed her up and turns out...SHE LOVED IT! As a side note: Daddy is taking her to My Gym classes one morning a week for the summer. It's their time, and believe me they need it! ...or was that me? =)

We invited her entire pre-school class and friends that she has known since she was 6 months old, give or take. I think all the kids had a blast! Lots of music, Lots of games. Two instructors and 1 1/2 hours of pure fun! I'd recommend it to everyone! They set-up and clean-up too!

Miss C chose Mickey Mouse for her party theme. The best part for me... the mouse ears! There is a Disney outlet store in Fullerton and they had mouse ears for $1 a pair! I couldn't resist. I wrote all the kids names on their hats when they arrived and they all looked so cute! My little mouse had a "gaaaawly" good time!

Remember when...

Hi! I'm the mom of a vibrant 3 1/2 year old - Miss C!

Yes, I know, what took me so long to get a blog started...well, life? And the fact that blogs were not all that when Miss C was born. I did send pictures by snail mail every month for the entire first year of her life to most of you all...

I get credit for that, right? =)

SO - Thanks to the wonderful examples set by my sassy & articulate sisters, I am starting this blog so that they can keep up with Miss C (since they live SOOOO far away)...and of course for the rest of our family and friends too!

We love you all!
